Situated on the banks of the Port River overlooking the historic Port Adelaide Docks, The Birkenhead Tavern has stood proudly since 1878. While the venue has evolved over time, the refurbishment of the bistro and alfresco spaces was designed to honour the hotel’s heritage while elevating comfort and style for today’s patrons.
Inside the dining room, Mulberry Armchairs and Side Chairs upholstered in custom fabrics are paired with natural elm table tops and Carlton white dining bases to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Custom banquet seating adds personality and charm, finished in a quirky seagull fabric—a playful nod to the waterside location and the designer’s vision of blending character with location.
Outside on the all-weather deck, Amarillo Oak compact laminate table tops are set on crisp white Henley bar bases and complemented by Morella Bar Stools, providing a durable, modern and inviting alfresco setting.
Whether enjoying a family meal in the dining room, a casual drink at the Riverview Bar or taking in the scenery from the deck, guests experience comfort, history and Port River views. And if you’re lucky, you may even catch the local dolphins putting on a show while you dine.
