The Adelaide Town Hall, one of South Australia’s most culturally and historically significant landmarks, has long stood as a symbol of civic pride. With its grand architectural features, marble staircase, intricate stonework and preserved heritage detailing, the objective of this refurbishment was to introduce modern comfort and functionality while maintaining the integrity and beauty of this iconic building.
Across a series of function, pre-function and communal spaces, contemporary furnishings were thoughtfully selected to complement the Town Hall’s classical character. Adelaide Chairs bring refined seating to the function rooms, while Monte Armchairs in Pelle Navy and custom Vinny Sofas add style and comfort to pre-function and reception areas.
Coffee tables with brass bases and Calcutta Grey compact laminate tops, as well as bar tables featuring Carlita bases and matching Calcutta Grey tops, enhance the communal zones without overwhelming the existing architectural features. Each furniture piece was curated to sit respectfully within the historical setting, allowing original finishes and detailing to remain the visual hero.
On the balcony, White Coleman Bar Stools paired with white Luna bases and Calcutta Grey table tops provide a fresh and cohesive outdoor setting that mirrors the sophisticated interior.
The result is a collection of spaces that elevate visitor experience—enhancing transitions, pre-function areas and event spaces—while ensuring the Adelaide Town Hall continues to present itself as a timeless venue admired by residents and visitors alike.
